Marta Alvarez is a cultural critic and mediator. Graduated in Philosophy and a Masters Degree in Art History, she is interested in French Theory and the third wave feminism, institutional critique, free culture and the local production from the periphery. She has worked for La Gran for two years, developing curatorial works and designing cultural projects such as mujer.NODO.
Furthermore, she has coordinated and taken part in collaborative projects such as #MappingArt Valladolid or the digital art laboratory called bit:LAV at Laboratorio de las Artes de Valladolid (LAVA), the cinema cycle “Transversalities between contemporary art forms” and Art in Action Project in the Patio Herreriano Museum, the first two editions of the emerging artists collective exhibition CreaVA and the encounter “Occupy Gender. Feminist initiatives Forum”at the Museum of African Art from the UVA (MAAUVA). Nowadays she gives talks and workshops and she participates in publications such as Input Magazine, NEX Valladolid or Interartive, always interested in the dissemination of contemporary culture from a critical outlook.
